Sophie - Community Carer
"Take it from me; if you’re a caring person, this is the place to be!"
Sophie joined Superior Care in 2012 as a Community Carer, having previously worked for another local care agency and in the care sector since 2007. Having recently returned to college, Sophie chose to join Superior Care so that she could fit her work around her studies.
Since joining, Sophie has enjoyed a wide variety of different assignments and has worked both with older people and younger adults who have learning and physical disabilities, including as the consequence of acquired brain injuries. Most recently, Sophie has joined the team that supports a young lady with complex care needs.
As part of her recent assignment, Sophie was offered the opportunity to participate in training which was run by Specialist Respiratory Nurses at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital; an opportunity which is offered by only a very limited number of employers. Sophie has also received specific Epilepsy Awareness and PEG Feed Training.
Commenting on working for Superior Care, Sophie says “Superior Care has offered me some great care packages to choose from… They’ve sent me on some great training courses and I find myself learning new things with Superior Care everyday. It really is a great place to work.”
