Superior Care offers positive message to Healthcare Students
The team from Superior Care will be meeting the healthcare staff of the future on Tuesday December 9 with a clear message that they are entering a profession in which they can feel valued and rewarded.
Superior Care is the first Kent-based healthcare provider to be formally accredited by the Living Wage Foundation, a message we’re keen to deliver to students at Christ Church University’s Health and Social Care Fair, held at both Medway and Canterbury campuses.
Christ Church offers many health and social care courses and regularly holds job fairs on specific sectors at which employers can speak direct to the university’s bright, skilled and motivated students about vacancies, internships or placements. They give employers the ideal opportunity to network with a large number of students at one time, providing them with vital information on opportunities, vacancies, recruitment processes and what companies are looking for in an employee.
We are looking forward to meeting some of the care professionals of tomorrow at the Christ Church Health and Social Care Fair. We’ll be telling them not just about our commitment to the Living Wage but also the host of benefits available to our carers, support workers and registered nurses, including flexible hours, internal and external training placements, and 28 days paid holiday each year (pro-rata) as well as a company pension.
The Living Wage is a robust calculation that reflects the real cost of living, rewarding a good day’s work with a fair day’s pay. It is calculated according to the basic cost of living using the ‘Minimum Income Standard’ for the UK. Decisions about what to include in this standard are set by the public; it is a social consensus about what people need to make ends meet.
We’re looking to expand across Kent and the South East, so if you are a health care student at Christ Church and are committed to building a fulfilling career in care, drop by and see us on December 9!
